The Municipal Authority currently provides waste collection and treatment
services for the City of McKeesport, White Oak Borough, Port Vue Borough,
Liberty Borough, East McKeesport Borough, Elizabeth Township, Glassport Borough,
Versailles Borough, and North Versailles Township, serving approximately 62,000
people.

On
January 1, 2009, the Authority acquired the McKeesport collection's system from
the City of McKeesport. With over 100 miles of sewer lines and several hundred
catch basins to maintain, the Authority created a new department consisting of a
staff of 12 employees. This collection system department was assembled to
service all of the Authority's properties, lines, and equipment located outside
of the waste water treatment plant.
In conjunction with acquiring the sewer lines from the City, the Authority has
also assumed the responsibility of providing the sewage billing and collection
services for the residents of McKeesport and Versailles Borough.
In order to provide a working space for these two new departments, the former
MAWC water billing office at 2800 Walnut Street in McKeesport was purchased.
This location provides a convenient place for our rate payers to pay their bills
or ask questions to a member of our billing staff.
